Professional Experience

Paul Kalish has appraised commercial real estate since 2005 and received the Appraisal Institute MAI designation in 2014. Since becoming a Certified General Appraiser with the State of Colorado in 2007, Paul has appraised a variety of major commercial assets, including triple-net retail investments, vacant land, restaurants, industrial, medical and general office properties, multi-family, while also acquiring the competency to appraise special use, proposed developments, subdivisions, gas stations, daycare facilities, hotels, motels, and religious properties.

With the principals of CoVal Partners receiving the Appraisal Institute’s MAI designation in 2014, we stress the importance of continuing education to be successful in the appraisal business. Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Colorado and co-founded CoVal Partners, LLC in August 2014 with Ryan Ruddell, MAI.

Professional Experience

Ryan Ruddell is the co-founder of CoVal Partners. Ryan Ruddell is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, and completed the Appraisal Institute requirements for the MAI designation in August 2014. Ryan began his appraisal career in 2007, earning the Certified General Appraiser license in 2009, and completing the requirements for the MAI designation in 2014.

He has completed valuation assignments on a variety of projects, including industrial, office, retail, residential subdivisions, apartments, mixed-use, senior housing, houses of worship, parking facilities, and a variety of special use properties. This includes preparation of comprehensive narrative appraisals for vacant land, proposed properties, and existing improvements. Valuation has encompassed fee simple, leased fee and leasehold estates.  Ryan has also performed feasibility studies, market rent analysis and assisted owners in making asset management decisions.

Ryan graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelors of Arts Degree, followed by a teaching certification from San Francisco State University. Prior to appraising Ryan taught Economics, Government and United States History at the high school level.
